Georgian, George III, Old Sheffield Plated, lidded tankard, circa 1780 - 1790. Features a domed hinged cover and heart shaped terminal to the handle. The centre of the tankard features a reeded girdle and the base is skirted.
In very good order with no dents or creases to the cover or body. There has been a solder repair to the rim of the cover and just above the skirted base. The tankard is watertight and holds about 950 ml. The tankard has been replated and there is movement in the hinge. Surface wear commensurate with age and the flat rim of the cover sits slightly up on one side as per the photos.
Approximate weight is 747 grams.
