Regimental Silver Trophy Goblet, 88 Brigade Royal Field Artillery. Presented by Captain Sir John Smiley. This division was formed in 1914 as part of Kitchener's Second New Army. They were in action at the Battle of the Somme and the Third Battle of Ypres.

Captain Sir John Reid Smiley Baronet was born in 1876 and educated at Eton College. He served with the 6th Dragoon Guards during the Boer War. In 1909 he became 2nd Baronet Smiley of Drumalis, Larne, Co. Antrim and Gallowhill, Paisley, Renfrewshire. He joined 88 Brigade Royal Field Artillery in 1918 for duty with the artillery horse lines as Horsemaster.
