19th Century Duke of Wellington Commemorative Cast Iron Relief Plaque. Of circular form with a crown set at the top. The protrait is of an older Duke of Wellington, circa mid 19th century. This item is almost certainly made by Litchurch Works of Derby, circa 1854.
Arthur Wellesley, 1st Duke of Wellington (1769 - 1852) was Prime Minister of Britain twice and a victorious commander during the Napoleonic Wars.
In very good order with moderate surface wear commensurate with age. Loss of gilt detail.
