
A George III Old Sheffield Plate Toasted Cheese Dish, circa 1810 - 1820. The turned wooden handle unscrews to allow hot water to fill a reservoir. The hinged cover leans back to stay open and can also be completely removed. The border of the dish with gadrooned detail and a fixed loop handle to the cover.
Approximate weight is 1.235 kilos.
Approximate dimensions are 33 cm end of handle to dish edge length, 24 cm width and 7.5 cm height.
In good condition with no repair. The underside of the base has some light pressure marks. The dish has not been replated.
