The faded text reads: 'John Earl St Vincent, Admiral of the Red and General of Marines'.
Portrait, whole-length; standing to front, facing towards right; wearing a fur-trimmed robe, naval uniform, chain, medal on ribbon around neck, seal on fob; holding his sword with his left hand, and papers lettered 'Naval Bill' in his right hand; to left, a table with tablecloth bearing coat of arms, books, papers and a globe; naval battle in background to left; pillar and curtain to right.
Approximate frame dimensions are 73 cm height, 54 cm length and 6 cm depth.
In good age related condition. The frame with chips and minor losses. The backing paper torn. No glass or portrait damage. The text beneath the portrait is very faded.
