Pair of Silver Trophy Goblets for future Royal Navy Admiral P. M. R. Royds on HMS Victoria. The goblets were awarded for winning a singles and doubles squash racquets competition. Royds won the doubles with J. G. Lumsden.

Admiral Sir Percy Molyneux Rawson Royds (1874 - 1955) was capped three times for England as a rugby player. In 1916 he commanded the light cruiser HMS Bellona at the Battle of Jutland. For this action he was made a Companion of St Michael and St George (CMG). He was appointed aide-de-camp to King George V in 1921. In 1927 Royds was appointed president of the Rugby Football Union. In 1932 he became an Admiral on the retired list. Later, in 1937, Royds became a Conservative MP for Kingston-Upon-Thames.

HMS Victoria was a Royal Navy battleship and in 1893 she collided with HMS Camperdown, quickly sinking with the loss of 358 men, including Vice-Admiral Sir George Tryon, Commander of the British Meditteranean Fleet. One of the survivors was John Jellicoe, later Commander in Chief of the British Grand Fleet at the Battle of Jutland.

One is hallmarked for London 1891 and the other for London 1892. Both show the makers mark of George Jackson.

In excellent condition with light surface wear commensurate with age.

Approximate weight for the pair is 192 grams or 6.1 troy ounces.

Approximate dimensions of one are 14.5 cm height and 6 cm cup diameter.
