A late Victorian Art Nouveau silver mounted leather purse, retailed by J.W. Allen of The Strand, London. Features an attractive silver mount in the Art Nouveau fashion of the day. The exterior is of brown leather with a pouch to the rear. The interior is of a softer leather and features several compartments, including a clasp locked one. The retailer's stamp is to the interior.
In very good condition with light wear to the leather. The silver clasp button has a very small crease to one side. No damage to the silver mount.
Hallmarked for London 1900 by Franz Schiebner.
Approximate dimensions are 12.5 cm length, 5.5 cm width and 2 cm height.
