A George V Silver Salver with a presentation inscription for Captain Lord Alastair St.Clair Sutherland-Leveson-Gower (Military Cross) of the Royal Horse Guards. He was the second son of the 4th Duke of Sutherland and was an Officer in the Royal Horse Guards, where he was wounded twice and received the Military Cross. Lord Alastair was on a big game expedition in Rhodesia when he contracted malaria and died on 28 April 1921 at the age of 31. He is buried at Dunrobin Castle in Scotland.

Of shaped circular form with a raised gadrooned border. The salver is raised on four claw and ball feet.

In excellent condition with light surface wear commensurate with age.
