A large Georgian, George III, silver coffee pot, of baluster form with a discreet monogram beneath the finely cast, leaf capped, spout. The pot stands on a gadrooned circular foot and has a fruitwood handle. The domed cover is gadrooned and has a flame finial.
Condition is excellent with light surface wear commensurate with age. The cover does not quite sit flush on the top rim of the body. Possible erasure to one side, but not thin and does not flex.
Hallmarked to the underside of the base for London 1765 by Francis Butty & Nicholas Dumee. The makers mark and lion passant hallmark also appear on the interior of the cover rim.
Approximate weight is 900 grams, or 28.9 troy ounces.
Approximate dimensions are 29.5 cm height, 22 cm spout to handle length and 12 cm depth.
