An Early 19th Century Rose Gold, White Metal and Tortoiseshell Naval Snuff Box with Applied Fouled Anchor and Sailor's Name in Rose Gold. The white metal is almost certainly unmarked silver.

Approximate weight is 44 grams.

Approximate dimensions are 6.8 cm length, 4.5 cm width and 1.8 cm height.

In fair to good condition with one stable split (about 1.5 cm length) to the tortoiseshell base and one area of loss to the tortoiseshell, only visible from inside the box. This loss is covered on the outside by the white metal. The tortoiseshell to the underside of the base has heavy wear and marks. Two light pressure marks to the white metal at one end of the box. The last three photos show these faults best. The box displays well and the hinge operates as it should.
