Eastern silver plated ornate entree dish and cover. Circa 19th century. Likely to be Islamic and most definitely hand worked. The cover features a wonderfully ornate and large finial. The entire, slightly domed, cover has been hand chased with foliate decoration. The base of the dish has been hammered with a hand chased rim of flower heads. The construction of this dish is very similar to Old Sheffield Plate, in that you can see the thin layer of silver rolled over the edge. You can also see through to the base metal in the odd spot where the silver sheet has been pierced. You would not see this on electro plated silver.

In excellent condition and gloriously imperfect with some of the hand chasing. There are a couple of spots where the layer of silver has worn through, but the item is free of any major concerns. Ready to use!
