Prince Arthur Duke of Connaught & Strathearn (1850 - 1942) was the 7th child of Queen Victoria and Prince Albert. He was the only Prince to serve as Governor General of Canada. He was commissioned as a Lieutenant in the British Army, serving some 40 years and seeing service around the Empire. In 1902 he was promoted to Field Marshal and served as Commander-in-Chief of Ireland. In 1921 he visited India and there is a Pathe film which shows him attending horse racing in Calcutta.
Major Kenneth Robertson (born 1881) was commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant in the Norfolk Regiment in 1901. He transferred to the Indian Army in1905 and served as a Squadron Officer with the 2nd Lancers (Gardner's Horse) from 1906. A keen horseman, he was the official starter at the Royal Calcutta Turf Club.

In very good condition with some clouding of the silver (fire scale) and light pressure marks. Free of any major dents or creases.
