French Revolution Uniface Patinated Lead Medallion "Arrivee Du Roi a Paris Le 6 Octobre 1789" by Bertrand Andrieu. Dating to the early 19th century.
Depiction of the return of King Louis XVI and Marie-Antoinette to Paris on 6 October 1789. The King's carriage is escorted by soldiers of the National Guard through Place de Louis XV (later Place de Revolution), as large crowds gather around in the foreground and background. Upper left is the equestrian statue of King Louis XV.
In excellent condition with wear to the reverse from where it was originally mounted, probably within a fitted display book.
