A George III 18th Century Reverse Glass Mezzotint Portrait in an Ebonised Frame. George III Wearing Sash and Garter Star Pinned to his Embroidered Coat. After the Portrait by Jeremiah Meyer and the Mezzotint by Richard Purcell. Circa 1760 - 1765. It would appear to be the original frame.
Approximate frame dimensions are 42.3 cm height and 32 cm width.
Approximate weight is 895 grams.
Age related wear to the portrait as per the photographs. The bottom of the picture would have shown a text which read: 'George the Third...King of Great Britain, France and Ireland &c &c'', Myers pinx., R. Purcell fecit., London, printed for E. Bakewell and H. Parker opposite Birchin Lane in Cornhill and R. Sayer at ye Golden Buck in Fleet Street'. This is no longer visible.
