George III Silver Inkstand. Of rectangular form with two pen rests and three associated cut glass ink bottles. The inkstand is raised on four claw and ball feet and features an armorial to one side.
The inkstand is hallmarked for London 1762 by Edward Aldridge I & Edward Aldridge II. The three pierced bottle holders are all part hallmarked with the lion passant. The bottle mounts are not hallmarked but are almost certainly silver.
In excellent condition with light surface wear commensurate with age. The glass bottles are all in very good order with no losses.
Approximate weight of hallmarked silver is 404 grams or 12.9 troy ounces.
Approximate total weight is 681 grams.
