Six George III Silver Regimental Dessert Spoons for The Royal Cornwall & Devon Miners Regiment of Militia, known as the Royal Miners.

Raised in Bodmin in 1798. The regiment spent time in Lyndhurst, Ringwood & Christchurch escorting French prisoners of war. They were then sent to the Isle of Wight, beofre returning to Bodmin by 1802. In 1811 the regiment was deployed to Ireland and it was later disbamded in 1909.

Each spoon is hallmarked for London 1811 by Joseph Ash.
