George IV Old Sheffield Plate Ice Pail; Arms of Townsend & Barnard. Circa 1820 - 1830. This bucket features bands of reeded detail. The removable liner is supported by a removable copper base inside the bucket.
The pail features an armorial displaying the marital arms of Joseph Townsend (1794 - 1870) and Louisa Barnard (1802 - 1863). A heraldry report accompanies this item.
In excellent condition with moderate surface wear commensurate with age. Small area of solder to the top rim of the liner (picture 9) and a small crease to this same rim.
