George V Silver Salver. Of shaped circular form with a raised pie crust rim. Raised on three scrolled feet.

The field with a presentation inscription to Josslyn S Egerton from Louise, with a royal cypher. Josslyn Seymour Egerton (1883 - 1946 ) was a Major in the Coldstream Guards and a Page of Honour to Queen Victoria and Edward VII at Buckingham Palace.

Although signed only as Louise, the cypher is for Princess Louise (Louisa Caroline Alberta), Duchess of Argyll and daughter of Queen Victoria (1848 - 1939). Her husband was the Marquess of Lorne and heir of the Duke of Argyll. He was appointed Governor of Canada in 1878 and Louise accompanied him as Viceregal Consort. Lake Louise and the Province of Alberta were named after her.

In excellent condition with very light surface wear.
