Georgian, early George III, silver lattice gallery inkstand. Features compartments for ink bottles, sealing wax and dip pens. The cut glass ink bottles have unmarked mounts with gadrooned rims. The inkstand is raised on four paw feet and features gadrooned borders.

In excellent order with light surface wear, commensurate with age. No damage to the glass or the silver lattice work. The ink bottle covers do not close fully flush.

Hallmarked as silver by Edward Aldridge I & John Stamper. They were London silversmiths around the time of the end of the reign of George II and I would date this inkstand to circa 1760 - 1770. There is no date letter and the maker's mark is partially rubbed.
