Georgian, George III, set of four Old Sheffield Plate entree dishes and covers with matching Armorials, circa 1810 - 1820. Features removable gadrooned handles and gadrooned detail to the borders. The dishes and covers are marked 1,2,3 & 4.
The purchaser will receive a detailed report concerning the research into the Armorial. It relates to the arms of Edmeades. The original owner is likely to have been Henry Edmeades of Nurstead Court, Meopham, Kent.
Condition is very good with moderate to high surface wear and scratches, commensurate with age and use as serving dishes. Some higher wear around the gadrooned borders and slight copper bleed. One handle slightly at an angle and very high wear to the end of one dish, as per the last two photographs.
Approximate total weight of all four is 6 kilos.
Approximate dimensions of one are 28.5 cm length, 22 cm width and 16 cm height.
