Georgian, George II, Pair of Crested Silver Sauce Boats. Each sauce boat is raised on three shell capped hoof feet. Flying scroll handles and a wavy rim.

The hallmarks are very rubbed but the lion passant and crowned leopard's head marks have indentations which were in use for London between 1739 and 1755. The 'H' mark is part of the maker's mark as there was no capital H date letter in use for this period. The sauce boats can be attributed to Henry Brind, known for making sauce boats and active from 1742 until 1766. There would appear to be no other sauce boat makers using this font of capital H in their makers mark during this period.

Both are in very good condition with moderate surface wear commensurate with age. The pair are free of dents and creases.

Approximate weight for the pair is 580 grams or 18.6 troy ounces.

Approximate dimensions of one are 19 cm length, 11 cm width and 11 cm height.
