Georgian, George II, silver baluster jug with engraved armorial, domed cover and turned finial. The jug is wider towards the base and was possibly for use on a ship.
Condition is very good. The leather covering the handle is probably a replacement for an original wicker one. Traces of an old repair to the inside of the domed cover. The jug has moderate surface wear, but no dents or creases.
Hallmarked to the underside of the base for London 1747. The makers mark is partly rubbed and I cannot identifiy it.
Approximate weight is 445 grams or 14.3 troy ounces.
Approximate dimensions are 23 cm height, 15 cm length and 12.5 cm depth.
