An early George II spreading cylindrical silver coffee pot. Chased with flowers and leaves on a matted background. Features a skirted base and fruit wood scroll capped handle. Bell shaped knop finial on a hinged dome cover.
The crest is that of the Rev. Arthur Wollaston Hutton who was a 19th century rector of St Mary-by-Bow, Cheapside.
Hallmarked to the base for London 1731 by Gabriel Sleath and just the lion passant inside the lid.
In very good order with a slightly misshapen base and lid rim as shown in the photos. Solder traces to the base underside and cover steam hole.
Approximate dimensions are 19 cm height, 17 cm handle to spout length and 9.5 cm base diameter.
Approximate weight is 480 grams or over 15 troy ounces.
