Georgian, George III, Cased Set of Silver Dessert Cutlery for Twelve. Housed within its original red leather fitted case. The handles are made from carved mother of pearl.

The fork stems and knife blades are all hallmarked with the kings duty head and lion passant. The knife blades are further hallmarked with the Sheffield date letters for 1810 and 1811. The date letter on one knife is rubbed.  There are no maker's marks on the knives or forks, as is common on cutlery of this period.

In excellent order with light surface wear commensurate with age. There is one small chip to the mother of pearl on a fork handle, but this does not affect use. All of the handles are fixed firmly and blades/tines are in good order. The case has heavier wear, as you would expect with a 210 year old leather case.

Approximate total cased weight is 974 grams.

Approximate case dimensions are 23.5 cm length, 19.5 cm width and 3.2 cm height.

Approximate fork dimensions are 15 cm length and 1.2 cm tine width.

Approximate knife dimensions are 17.5 cm length and 1.5 cm blade width.
