Georgian, George III, Old Sheffield Plate, Coffee Pot, circa 1760 - 1780. Of plain baluster form with an acorn finial to the hinged and domed cover. Raised on a spreading circular foot, with an ebonised wooden handle and ornate cast spout.
In very good condition with no dents or creases. Minor, age related, cracks to the wooden handle which does not affect use. The coffee pot has been replated and there are traces of a small erasure to one side, but no thinning. Slightly raised rubbed in silver oval to one side. Traces of a material, possibly from replating, that extends from the top rim to the base of the spout. Pictures 1 and 3 show this best.
Approximate weight is 441 grams.
Approximate dimensions are 22 cm height and 17.5 cm handle to spout length.
