Georgian, George III, Old Sheffield Plate Crested Soup Tureen, circa 1810. Of bombe form with twin reeded handles terminatinating in acanthus roundels. The tureen is raised on four scrolled and leaf capped feet. The partially fluted and domed cover with foliate cast loop handle mounted on a bed of leaf detail. The cover and body with rubbed in silver squares bearing the crest of a greyhound. The border of the tureen gadrooned with shell and foliate detail.
In excellent order with light surface wear commensurate with age. A slight gap in the cover handle from where it was cast in two halves.
