Georgian, George III, Old Sheffield Plate lidded tankard. Circa 1770. Features a domed hinged cover and heart shaped terminal to the handle. The centre of the tankard features a reeded girdle and the base is skirted.
In good overall order with no dents or creases to the cover or body. There has been a solder repair to the main face of the handle and the underside of the base. The tankard is watertight and holds about 1.1. litres. The tankard has been replated and there is movement in the hinge, causing the cover to be a little loose.
Approximate weight is 600 grams.
Approximate dimensions are 19 cm height, 17 cm length and 13 cm base diameter.
