Georgian, George III, Old Sheffield Plate pair of open sauce tureens and stands of the best quality and workmanship. Of oval form and adorned with ribbon tied swags and medallion decoration. The handles are reeded and scrolled. Both tureens are crested and raised on oval feet. Beaded decoration features on the borders of the tureens and their stands. The crest is featured to one side of each tureen and the stands. The pair are ever so slightly graduated in height.
Condition for the pair is excellent with minimal copper bleed. One has a loose piece somewhere in the void of the stem, but you do have to shake it to hear it!
These have no makers marks but are probably by Tudor & co. dating to around 1775.
Approximate dimensions are
Tureen: 24 cm length, 12.5 cm height and 11.5 cm depth.
Tureen: 24 cm length, 11 cm height and 11.5 cm depth.

The pair weigh just over a kilo.
I have lots of pairs of Georgian silver sauce ladles for sale that would be ideal for this pair.
