Georgian, George III, Old Sheffield Plate Inkstand, circa 1780 - 1800. Features a pierced gallery and pierced bottle holders, two ink bottles and a central taperstick holder with compartment for sealing wax. Raised on four ball feet with a securing pin to the underside. Beaded decoration throughout.
In very good order with some warm copper bleed to the main surface. Free of dents and creases. One chip to the base of one glass bottle. One bottle cap is fixed, whilst the other is a tight fit. Moderate surface wear, commensurate with age and no dents, creases or splits. Higher wear to the underside of the base, with some black marks.
