Georgian, George III, Pair of Old Sheffield Plate Dinner Plates. Of shaped circular form with a raised and gadrooned border. Each plate has two rubbed in silver rectangles and a wheatsheaf crest.
Both feature the twin sun mark of Matthew Boulton and date to circa 1810.
In good condition with moderate surface wear and light scratches commensurate with age and for their use as tableware. Small areas of copper bleed, particularly to the undersides. Free of dents, creases and splits. The items have not been replated and one plate is a little duller in the centre, as per the photographs.
Approximate weight for both plates is 1.189 kilos.
Approximate dimensions of each plate are 25.5 cm diameter and 2 cm height.
