Georgian, George III, Pair of Neo-Classical Old Sheffield Plate Candlesticks, circa 1770 - 1780. The matching pair are profusely decorated throughout, with beaded detail to the bases and nozzles. The base is further detailed with swags and oval cartouches. The base of the stem with acanthus detail rising to swags suspending ribbon tied fruit baskets. The sconces held aloft by four fish and themselves detailed with bows and masks.
In excellent condition with moderate surface wear commensurate with age. The pair have not been replated and there are areas of copper bleed to the raised detail. One stick leans ever so slightly to the right due to a little movement in the stem. The pair are free of dents and creases.
