Georgian, George III, Pair of Crested Silver Sauce Ladles. The ladles of Old English pattern with faded lion face crests.

These ladles are from the estate of Elizabeth Pepys-Cockerell, descended on her husbands side from the diarist Samuel Pepys. His ancestors were associated with Sezincote in Gloucestershire.

One ladle is hallmarked for London 1782 and the other for London 1783, both by Richard Crossley.

In excellent condition with light surface wear commensurate with age. The hallmarks on the 1782 ladle are rubbed, but legible.

Approximate weight for the pair is 100 grams or 3.2 troy ounces.

Approximate dimensions of one are 16.5 cm length and 5.5 cm bowl width.
