Georgian, George III period, Old Sheffield Plate bacon dish, circa 1780 - 1800. Rectangular in form with a raised rim. Features twin heart shaped handles and a beaded rim, with rolled over silver edges to the underside. These are quite rare items and are known as bacon dishes, but could have been used for other foods.
In excellent order with surface wear commensurate with age and for its use as a serving dish. Small amounts of copper bleed to the edges.
Approximate weight is 385 grams.
