Georgian, George III period, Old Sheffield Plate ornate fish slice, circa 1770. From the personal collection of Gordon Crosskey, author of A History Of The 18th Century Plated Trade. Features a beaded handle and the most wonderful hand pierced blade with a leaf chased border.
In excellent condition with light copper bleed to the beaded decoration. Surface wear is fairly light, but commensurate with age. A slight gap between the handle and blade at the join, but this is not loose.
Approximate weight is 140 grams.
Approximate dimensions are 32 cm length and 6 cm blade width.
