Georgian, George III, set of Four Old Sheffield Plate Candlesticks, circa 1770. Features urn form sconces with removable drip trays atop a fluted square section stem capped by rams masks and fruiting vines. Raised on a circular base cast in relief with acanthus leaves, flowers and quarter centred shell forms. The base is supported by four acanthus capped scroll feet.
In excellent order with light surface wear commensurate with age. free of dents and splits. Looseness to the green felt base covering. Minimal light copper bleed to some of the raised areas.
Approximate weight of all four candlesticks is 4.9 kilos.
Approximate dimensions of one are 33 cm height and 15.5 cm base diameter.
