A George III, silver coffee jug of bellied form, with part fluting to the lower part of the body. The wooden handle features a scroll end finished with a rosette, whilst the top part joins the body in the form of acanthus leaves. The hinged cover features a foliate finial whilst the underside of the spout features applied detail. Lion crest to one side.
Hallmarked to the underside of the base for London 1805 by the silversmith GH, who would appesr to be an unregistered silversmith. The underside of the cover features the makers mark.
Condition is excellent with light surface wear commensurate with age.
Approximate weight is 834 grams or 26.8 troy ounces.
Approximate dimensions are 22 cm height, 15 cm handle to spout length and 14 cm depth.
