Georgian, George III, silver twin handled cup and cover raised on a circular foot. Featuring double scroll acanthus capped handles and a vacant cartouche. The handles join the body through applied leaf decoration. The detail features a repousse urn filled with flowers. Beneath this is an ornate brick wall with an open door. The domed cover also features foliate repousse decoration and a leaf capped finial. The cover and foot rims are both beaded.
Condition is excellent with light surface wear commensurate with age.
Hallmarked to the underside of the base for London 1765 by the silversmith LLH, or very similar. This silversmith is unknown. A register of silversmiths for this period was lost. The inner rim of the cover is also hallmarked for London 1765.
Approximate weight is 2.199 kilos or 70.6 troy ounces.
