Georgian, George III, silver twin handled cup & cover with part fluted body. The upper body is plain with a ribbon swag rising over a vacant cartouche on each side. The handles have foliate terminations against the body. The domed cover is decorated with leaves around a pineapple finial.  Raised on a pedestal foot with ribbon detail and a gilded interior.

Hallmarked to the inside of the cover and the underside of the body for London 1779 by John Wakelin & William Taylor. An early incarnation of what would go on to become Garrards, the Crown Goldsmiths.

Approximate weight is 1.490 kilos or 47.93 troy ounces.

Approximate dimensions are 35 cm height and 16 cm depth.

In very good condition with light surface wear commensurate with age The item is free of dents, creases and splits. There is a repair in the lower part of the cup. This repair is within the fluted area and was probably where a tap once was, when this was used an urn or samovar.  One of the cartouches has had an erasure, but it is not thin or bumpy. Some heat hazing marks to the silver. The item can be flash plated, at an extra cost, to remove any clouding.
