Georgian, George III, Silver Fruit Basket. Of oval form with reeded, pierced, prick work and bright cut detail to the upper rim. The handle is fully reeded. Raised on a pierced oval foot with prick work detail. Crested and monogrammed to the centre.
Hallmarked to the body for London 1799. Only the last letter, H, of the maker's mark is visible and this appears to have been overstamped. The handle is hallmarked with the lion passant.
In excellent order with light surface wear commensurate with age.
Approximate weight is 656 grams or 21 troy ounces.
Approximate dimensions are 35 cm length, 26 cm width and 24 cm height (handle raised - 11 cm with handle lowered).
