Georgian, George III and later, silver galleried inkstand with adapted sugar nip pen rest and later inkwells. This inkstand utilises a candle snuffer tray as the inkstand base and a pair of silver snuffers as the pen rest. The inkstand features a fine galleried rim and stands on four ball feet. The sugar nips are ornate with bellflower detail.
In excellent order with light surface wear commensurate with age.
The tray is hallmarked for London 1776 by Robert Makepeace & Richard Carter. The sugar nips are hallmarked for Sheffield 1777 by William Wild & Co. The two silver mounted glass inkwells are hallmarked for Birmingham 1882 by Hukin & Heath.
