Georgian, George III, Silver Lidded Quart Tankard. Of baluster form with an applied reeded girdle. The scroll handle with open work scroll thumb piece and ornate terminal. The domed and hinged cover with reeded decoration. Raised on a spreading circular foot with a later monogram. The tankard is watertight and holds about 1150 ml full to the brim.
Hallmarked to the inside of the cover and the underside of the base for London 1770 by John Delmester.
In excellent order with light surface wear commensurate with age. A small crease to the handle, near the hinge area.
Approximate weight is 936 grams or 30 troy ounces.
Approximate dimensions are 20 cm height, 17 cm length and 11.5 cm base diameter.
