Georgian, George III, silver and mother of pearl dessert service for twelve. The twelve knives and twelve forks are housed in their original, beige velvet lined, red tooled leather case. The fork tines and knife blades are all hallmarked silver. All of the handles are mother of pearl. This service is ready to use.
The knives are hallmarked for sterling silver Sheffield 1810, with the duty mark head of George III. The forks are marked for sterling silver with the duty mark of the head of George III. There are no maker's marks. Some rubbing of hallmarks to the knife blades.
The original fitted case is in very good conditon with both clasps still working. There is wear to the tooled leather exterior, as shown in the photos. Minor splits and losses to the mother of pearl handles, but all firm and not affecting use. The silver knife blades and fork tines have light wear, mostly to the knife blade edges, commensurate with age and use.
