Georgian, George III, Silver Tankard. Of tapered form with a reeded girdle to the centre of the body and a skirted base. The hinged and domed cover with reeded detail. The handle with scroll thumb piece and heart shaped terminal. Free of any inscriptions, monograms, or later chasing. The tankard is watertight and holds about 980 ml, full to the brim.
Hallmarked to the inside of the cover and the upper body for London 1764 by William Plummer. Partially obscured maker's mark to the body.
In excellent order with light surface wear commensurate with age. One shallow pressure mark towards the top of the handle. Some solder traces to the underisde of the base.
Approximate weight is 761 grams or 24.4 troy ounces.
Approximate dimensions are 18.5 cm height, 16 cm length and 13 cm base diameter.
