Georgian, George III, silver tankard mug. Of plain baluster form with acanthus leaf capped scroll handle on a spreading, circular, pedestal foot. The underside of the base features an inscription " The gift of my grandmother Sarah Whaley 1783".
In excellent original condition. There will be signs of use and light surface wear.
Capacity full to the brim is about 650 ml, so enough for a pint of beer with a head on it.
Hallmarked for London 1772 by Charles Wright.
