Georgian, George III, silver pedestal wine jug. Of shield shape and raised on a circular pedestal foot. The domed cover with an urn shaped finial and beaded detail throughout.
In excellent order with light surface wear, commensurate with age. There is a slightly raised oval within a reeded and ribbon decorated oval cartouche to the front, which has probably covered a previous engraving.
Hallmarked to the base for London 1787. The makers mark on the base is rubbed, but John Scofield's mark appears on the inside of the cover with the lion passant.
Approximate weight is 786 grams or 25.2 troy ounces.
