Georgian, George IV, cased set of silver Kings pattern fruit knives & forks for six persons. Contained within a carved wooden fitted case with a sumptuous purple velvet and satin interior.
Condition is excellent with only minor surface wear. The blades and tines are all in good order. The case is in very good order with moderate wear to the exterior and interior.
Each knife is hallmarked to the blade and base of the handle/collar area. Each fork is hallmarked above the tine area and base of the handle/collar area.
All of the forks tines are hallmarked for Sheffield 1828. The date letters on the handles are also for 1828.
Four knife blades are hallmarked for Sheffield 1825 and the other two are hallmarked for Sheffield 1828. The date letters on the handles are for 1824 (4) and 1828 (2)
The handles are all silver, but hallmarked in the collar position, as is common with Kings pattern cutlery. Every piece is hallmarked by Aaron Hadfield & Sons, in two places.
