Georgian, George IV, Old Sheffield Plate crested entree dish and cover, dating to around 1820. The dish and cover are of a shaped, rectangular form with lead filled silver applied border of foliate & reeded detail. The crest is of a muzzled bear. The handle can be removed to turn the cover into a second serving dish.
Condition is fair with very high surface wear and scratches commensurate with age and use as a serving dish. There are areas of copper bleed. The dish is numbered 3, the cover 1 and the handle 4.
Approximate weight is 1.785 kilos.
