Georgian Old Sheffield Plate crested sauce tureen and cover. Circa 1820 - 1830. The cover and tureen are decorated with the crest of a bird with a leaf in its mouth. Features twin reeded handles, a domed cover with orb knop and a circular pedestal foot. The cover has rolled over silver edges.
In very good order with no dents or creases. Small amount of copper bleed and moderate surface wear, especially under the rim of the cover (unsighted when cover is on).
Approximate weight is 404 grams.
Approximate dimensions are 20.5 cm length, 14 cm depth and 12.5 cm height.
