Late Georgian Old Sheffield Plate entree dish and cover, on a warming stand. The dish and cover feature the rolled over silver edges commonplace in Old Sheffield Plate. The borders on the dish and cover are detailed with gadrooning, scrolls and foliage. The loop handle is detachable and is adorned with leaves and scrolls. The twin handled warming stand base features a removable mesh under which boiling water could be poured. It is raised upon four rounded feet.
In excellent order with moderate to high surface wear and light scratches commensurate with age and use. The handle does not click fully into a locked position, but serves it purpose.
