Georgian, George IV, Silver Hot Water Jug. Of baluster form with scroll handle and raised on a circular foot. There is a monogram to the centre of the body, in line with the spout. The slightly domed cover has an ebonised finial.
Hallmarked to the body and inside the cover for London 1825 by Michael Starkey. The nut holding the finial in place has a lion passant mark.
In good order with moderate surface wear commensurate with age. There has been a repair near the base of the handle and the last three photos illustrates this. The jug is watertight. Some clouding of the silver in the repaired area.
Approximate weight is 629 grams or 20.2 troy ounces.
Approximate dimensions are 23 cm height, 19 cm length and 12 cm depth.
